“The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” And the Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward.”
Exodus 14:14-15 NKJV
The children of Israel saw a huge obstacle. They were literally caught between the devil (read Pharaoh) and the deep ‘Red’ Sea. Theirs was a situation capable of embarrassing even the bravest of men.
Then the bible records that they began to do something very natural to the average human when faced with impossible and life threatening situations. They began to weep.
Sounds familiar right? How many times have I burst into tears, overwhelmed by everything, and worsened by the enemy’s whisper to my heart that there couldn’t possibly be a solution in sight.
I noticed something though. God let them cry. He even waited while they lashed out at Moses. And when they were done , He spoke.
‘Tell the children of Israel to go forward’
What?! forward to where? Into the sea to drown?
Thank God we know how the story ended.
I believe the one who called God ‘A r’ogun ma sa’ in my language did so on the basis of an accurate and spirit-inspired perception of God’s ability.
This same God told the Israelites (through Moses) that they had dwelt long on Mount Horeb. He had only one instruction for them: ‘Go forward’.
Song for the week: See a Victory by Elevation Worship.
“The weapon may be formed, but it won’t prosper
When the darkness falls, it won’t prevail
Cause the God I serve knows only how to triumph
My God will never fail
Oh my God will never fail!
I’m gonna see a victory
I’m gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to you Lord
I’m gonna see a victory
I’m gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to you Lord
There’s power in the mighty name of Jesus
Every war He wages He will win
I’m not backing down from any giant
‘Cause I know how this story ends
Yes I know how this story ends...”
Beloved, are you surrounded by mountain-looking situations? Perhaps, you have cried up until now. That’s okay, don’t feel bad. Now, begin to inquire of the Lord, and hear His voice concerning that matter.
And if (or when) He tells you to go forward, there is just one thing to do: move!
P.S: I have included a ‘song-for-the-week’ feature on this weekly post. Do well to download and edify your spirit.
Grace to you beloved,
Blessings in the new week.
